2024

• Blake has received an F30 predoctoral fellowship award from the NIH/NICHD which funds his PhD training.

• Harmony's paper on the enzymatic and nonenzymatic roles of Tet3 in neuroectoderm specification is published  in Communications Biology.

• The lab is awarded an NIH/NHLBI R01 grant to study the epigenetic regulation of embryonic hematopoiesis by Tet enzymes.

2023

• Ian and Harmony presented posters a the ISSCR Vienna International Symposium in Vienna in December.

• Julio's paper on the role of Tet2 in recruiting Sin3a to active enhancers in ESCs is published  in iScience.

• Julio successfully defended his PhD thesis on June 1st 2023. Congrats Dr. Flores!!!!

• Julio's paper on comparative analysis of Tet2 catalytic mutant and knockout bone marrow with age (collaborative work with Ito's lab) is published  in Experimental Hematology.

• Julio presented his work at Chromatin and Epigenetics Conference at EMBL Heidelberg in May.

2022

• Vik joined the lab as a technician.

• Blake passed his Ph.D. qualifying exam and is officially a PhD candidate.

• Stephanie's paper on non-catalytic roles of Tet1 in ESC cell cycle regulation is published in Cells.

• Antoine's paper on role of Rinf and Idax in ESC differentiation and development is published in Stem Cell Research.

• Ian has received an F30 predoctoral fellowship award from the NIH/NICHD which funds his PhD training.

• Stephanie and Liyang completed their trainings and bid farewell to the lab.

• Stephanie's and Qin's paper on noncatalytic roles of  Tet1  in embryonic stem cells and development is accepted at Nucleic Acid Research.

• Liyang's paper on the role of  Tet enzymes in embryonic hematopoiesis is accepted at Science Advances.

• Blake joined the lab as an MD PhD student.

• Qin, Kaitlin and Antoine completed their trainings and bid farewell to the lab.

• Ian passed his Ph.D. qualifying exam with Honors and is officially a PhD candidate.

• Harmony passed her Ph.D. qualifying exam and is officially a PhD candidate.

• Ian's review on the role of Tet enzymes in neural stem cell biology and neurodevelopment is published in Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology.

• Lab and collaborators published a review  in Trends in Cancer on the role of TET enzymes in epigenetic regulation of solid cancers

​

• Julio has received an F31 predoctoral fellowship award from the NIH/NIGMS which funds his PhD training.

• Julio, Harmony and Ian participated in online bioinformatics courses at UC Davis and CSHL.

• Fei joined the lab as bioinformatic analyst.

• Liyang is selected as a trainee on Einstein Stem Cell Institute Training Grant from NYSDOH/NYSTEM.

• Ian joined the lab as an MD PhD student.

• Kaitlin joined the lab for the research phase of her fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Montefiore.

• Harmony is selected as a trainee for the Einstein CMBG training grant funded by the NIH.

• Nick joined the lab as a technician.

• Meelad is promoted to associate professor in the department of Genetics.

• The lab is awarded a one year grant from the Feldstein Medical Foundation.

• Meelad is awarded the LaDonne H. Schulman Award for Excellence in Teaching at the Einstein 2020 Graduation Ceremony

• Julio passed his Ph.D. qualifying exam and is officially a PhD candidate.

• Harmony joined the lab as a PhD student.

• The lab is awarded a grant from the Irma T. Hirschl/Monique Weill-Caulier Trust Funds.

• Kyoko and Joun's paper on the roles of Tet2  in HSCs (collaborative work with Ito's lab) is accepted at Cell Reports.

• Miru and Run's paper on role of Rinf and Tet enzymes in ESCs is accepted at Cell Reports.

• Julio joined the lab  as an MD PhD student.

• Antoine joined the lab as a postdoctoral fellow.

• The lab is awarded a 4 year collaborative R01 grant with Ito lab through the NIH/NHLBI.

• Miru wins Best Poster Award at the Genetics Department Retreat.

• The lab attends the Genetics Department 2018 Retreat at the Mohonk Mountain House, NY.

• The lab attends the Stem Cell Institute 2018 Retreat at the Mohonk Mountain House, NY.

• Stephanie presents her work at the 2018 Canadian Epigenetics Conference.

• Stephanie wins the Dennis Shields Best Poster award.

• Stephanie is selected as a trainee on Einstein Stem Cell Institute Training Grant from NYSDOH/NYSTEM.

• Qin joined the lab as a postdoctoral fellow.

• The lab is awarded a 3 year grant through the NYSDOH/NYSTEM program.
